Accessibility
A periodontal chart is filled four-handed, often leaning over, sometimes without reading glasses. What helps a disabled person helps everyone chairside.
What is in place
- All data entry works from the keyboard: digits, flags, cursor movement. The mouse is never required.
- Voice dictation lets you chart a whole mouth without touching the screen, in all ten languages.
- Contrast in the chart and the reports meets the 4.5:1 ratio on text.
- Information is never carried by colour alone: every severity dot also has a height, every state a shape.
- The chart zooms from 85% to 220% without clipping or overlap.
- Arabic and Hebrew are rendered right to left, including the tooth diagram.
Known limitations
- The tooth diagram is a drawing: a screen reader announces the recorded values, not the shape of the curves. The Analysis view gives the same conclusions as text.
- On a phone, the sextant bar cells are smaller than the recommended 44 px touch target. Data entry goes through the keypad and the voice, which do meet it.
- Dictation depends on the browser’s recognition engine; it is not available in all of them.
Reporting a barrier
Write to us describing the screen and what you could not do. A reported barrier is handled before new features.
